After Work Scrub – Fresh
As the sun lingered in the morning sky, never having really dipped too far down at night, I would bend and meet the morning dew, drawing a deep breath to smell the raw world around me. The hint of diesel lingering in the air, mixing perfectly with the clean smell of nature, free from any real human intervention. Then, with one swift movement, I would pierce the ground with my shovel, and slot a baby tree into the newly formed hole, kicking it closed again as I walked to the new home of the next baby tree that was already in my hand. All the while deeply inhaling the smells that can only be had free from society.
While we could never capture those feelings, we did capture a scent that can only be called “Fresh”

I lived in a tent for months-at-a-time in the summer. I loved the smell in the morning, the chill that lingered in the air that greeted you when you left your sleeping bag. That first Drum cigarette of the day, watching the sun rise with a cup of strong, cheap perked coffee... it was a simple time. But one with a horrible dark side. Because whenever it started raining, I would pray to God that my little tent would weather the storm and not soak my nice warm sleeping bag... 15 years later, my heart still misses a beat when the rain falls, hoping my bed will be dry when I get home... this soap is the good part of the story.
